Severe weather has knocked out power to thousands of Consumers Energy customers in central Michigan.
As of 7:45 p.m. more than 6,000 customers in and around Durand and Vernon, Mich. were in the dark.
The National Weather Service reports high winds ripped roof paneling off the St. Johns' fire station in Clinton County. Power lines in the area are reportedly down, and pea size hail came with the storm.
More than 4,300 Consumer Energy customers in Ionia, Ionia Township and Easton Township have also lost power.
