Drivers in East Lansing will have to dodge a lot of barrels this summer.
The first one starts in early May, on Coolidge Road, between Lake Lansing and Abbey Roads. That project is expected to wrap up in mid-June.
In early June, road reconstruction will begin on Hagadorn Road, from Burcham Drive to Haslett Road, and Old Hickory Lane, from Burcham Drive to Whitehills Drive. The estimated end date for the Hagadorn Road project is Aug. 1 and the estimated end date for the Old Hickory Lane project is Aug. 15.
Those projects will cause intermittent lane closures during the day and full road closures at night when crews are paving.
Local street work will also take place from approximately June 10-Aug. 15 on Merritt Road, from Haslett Road to Park Lake Road; Ridgewood Drive, from Hagadorn Road to Timberlane Street; Woodside Drive, from Hagadorn Road to Ridgewood Drive; and Walnut Heights Drive, from Woodside Drive to Ridgewood Drive.
In addition to road projects, sidewalk repairs and ramp installation will take place on M.A.C. Avenue, from Grand River Avenue to Burcham Drive, from approximately May 21-Aug. 15.
