A semi accident has shut down the westbound lanes of I-94 in the Jackson area. Blackman-Leoni Public Safety tells us that a trailer came off of a semi truck, and struck the wall. The westbound lanes of I-94 are closed, and eastbound is down to one lane. The accident occurred around 9:31 AM, when a semi jacknifed. This incident happened on westbound I-94 on, or near the US-127 northbound ramp. We will bring you more details of this accident as they become available.
This was a secondary accident. There was an accident about a mile ahead, that slowed down traffic (a trailer had overturned about a mile down the road).
The semi wasn't able to slow down in time, then lost control and hit the median, sending debris on both sides of the highway (mainly the westbound). It also ruptured its gas tank, spilling diesel fuel on the road. The debris and fuel is now in the process of being cleaned up. Westbound lanes will remain closed, until the roadway is cleared.
