Organizers of the Lansing marathon say it will continue as scheduled on Sunday, despite the deadly explosions at the end of the Boston Marathon on Monday.

Race spokesperson Pamela Collier Jodway told News 10 that the Boston tragedy is "devastating." She says that security procedures already in place are under review.

Lansing police tell us they will be adding additional officers for security and crowd control as a result of what happened in Boston.

A department spokesperson says it will do whatever is necessary to ensure the safety of everyone at the race and the runners.

"We're pleased the Lansing police will be increasing security", said Lansing Marathon race Director Owen Anderson.

"We will be extremely, extremely vigilant", said Anderson.
