More public schools than ever before are requiring strict dress codes and uniforms, according to the National Center for Education Statistics.
Data from 2009-2010 shows 19 percent of public schools require uniforms and 57 percent enforce a "strict" dress code. Both numbers are up from 1999-2000.
Tonight on News 10 at Six, reporter Lorne Fultonberg explains why some schools use uniforms and others do not.
