JACKSON, Mich., July 20, 2013 – An up to one hour electric interruption has been scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. Sunday in the South Jackson/Vandercook Lake area.
The interruption will allow Consumers Energy crews to make necessary repairs to the local electric distribution system impacted by strong winds and thunderstorms Friday and early Saturday morning. More than 73,000 customers statewide have been affected since Friday morning due to thunderstorm activity.
Approximately 4,000 electric customers will be affected by the interruption. The approximate outage boundaries, all in Jackson County, are:
To the south, Jefferson Road in Liberty Township;
To the west, South Jackson Road in Summit Township;
To the east, Benton Road in Napoleon Township;
To the northeast, Flansburg Road in Leoni Township;
To the northwest, Probert Road in Summit Township.
