Rose Bowl Gear Going Fast

While stores are cashing in on the Spartan glory, fans are glad to relive the moment--one hat or hoodie at a time.

Some fans made it to Meijer even before the Rose Bowl Champions gear did.

"I think Connor Cook played an amazing game and I'm a really big fan," said Cheyenne Hill, a local teenager.

Even some Michigan fans are proud.

"I don't say this very often, but go green," said Georgina Hill.

The Student Bookstore in East Lansing and others put out champions gear before their doors opened. More shirts and hats are on the way.

"Going from unranked to this is unbelievable," said Sean Rider, a sophomore. "Being a student here it's pretty unbelievable-- a once in a lifetime experience, that's for sure."

A steady stream of people bought items at the Student Bookstore. Everyone is hoping to get that t-shirt or hat that's the right size before it's taken off the rack by someone else.

"I want to show all my friends that I'm a proud spartan," said George Smith, a MSU sophomore as he held up his new t-shirt.

At the Capital Region International Airport, despite temperatures in the teens, fans arrived home with smiles on their faces.

"Go Green," they shouted.

Fans are proud of their team, and some say they converted many in Los Angeles.

"The people in LA, by the time we left, they all knew how to [say Go green. Go white]," said Sue Settle, a Spartan Fan. "We'd go down the street and everybody 'they'd say 'go green' and we'd say go white, so it was just a lot of fun!"

"Kind of a dream, Michigan State hasn't made a Rose Bowl in my lifetime, so I jumped on this opportunity as soon as I found out," said Blake Laethem as he got off the plane.

Thursday 15 planes carried about 3,500 fans from Los Angeles to Lansing.

The Student Bookstore will have more gear for them on Friday.

"People are really excited I mean the win was amazing," said Brad Ballein, the manager at the Student Bookstore. "The season was amazing and people are trying to commemorate it with souvenirs and t-shirts and clothing and hats and all sorts of fun stuff."
