An event to get kids excited about a career in science or technology is under way at Mason High School this weekend.

Hundreds of students from more than 40 school districts around the state are showing off their smarts in the First Robotics Competition.

They've designed robots without instructions, and spent six weeks building them.

Anywhere from 1,000 to 1,500 people are expected to attend.
