The Red Cross is asking for your help to avoid a blood and platelet shortage.
It says there's usually a drop-off in donations during the summer, but this year has been worse than most.
Todd Kulman, the community manager for the Red Cross said, "We we're hoping that more donors would come out after the 4th of July holiday. That unfortunately did not happen. So if we continue to see this trend over the next few weeks, we could very well be seeing ourselves in a blood shortage situation."
If you plan on donating, make sure you eat a big meal and drink lots of water beforehand.
