Prolonged Renovations Leave Bride Without Wedding Venue

It's not the news an East Lansing bride wanted to hear just weeks before her wedding. The venue she booked months in advance was not going to be ready for her big day. Kathryn Jenkins was planning on holding her wedding ceremony and reception inside the Turner Dodge House, a historic building owned by the Lansing Parks and Recreation Department. A notice on the building's website says it's "closed until further notice due to renovations related to water damage." Jenkins says she was initially told those renovations would be done by her wedding, but on Thursday that timeline changed.
