Late Friday night, the White House issued a statement saying President Obama will make a visit to East Lansing this coming Friday.

Little information was given, except to say that his visit will include "an event on the economy."

"Further details," according to the announcement, "will be made in coming days."

It will be Obama's first trip to Michigan since December 2012, when he toured a Redford Township auto parts manufacturing plant.
