"The Muskegon Police Department is asking for assistance from the public to help identify a driver involved in a Pedestrian involved Hit and Run accident involving an infant.
At 1029 hrs, June 25, 2013, officers of the Muskegon Police Department were dispatched to 1500 S. Getty St on a report of a Car versus Pedestrian Hit and Run accident. Officers arrived on scene and met with the 18 yr old victim and her 1 yr old son.
The victim had been walking her infant in a stroller when a Gold, Pontiac Mini-Van with a damaged windshield, driven by an African-American male in his late teens or early 20’s, backed out of a parking space and struck the victim. The victim was knocked down, suffering minor abrasions. The victim’s son sitting in a stroller, which had become caught in the bumper of the vehicle, was dragged by the vehicle. Despite pleas for the offender to stop, the vehicle continued to move forward, dragging the infant and stroller. The mother was able to run to the stroller and remove her child from it before the vehicle fled Northbound on Getty St with the stroller dragging behind.
The victim’s son fortunately suffered only minor abrasion injuries."
Muskegon Police Department
Muskegon police are looking for this driver. He backed his van into a woman as she was pushing her baby in a stroller and then started to drive off.
He briefly stops when he sees the mom running, but as soon as she frees the one year old boy the man drove off.
Fortunately the child wasn't hurt and the mom scraped her knee. This happened in Muskegon at the end of June. Police have released this video in hopes that someone can identify the driver.
