WARREN, Mich. -- Police in suburban Detroit have seized a number of exotic animals from a home after an aardvark was spotted roaming in a backyard.

WDIV-TV out of Detroit reports that the animals were being cared for at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak on Wednesday after being found earlier in Warren.

A neighbor called police about the aardvark. Police say they went to the home and found aardvarks, lemurs, foxes and other animals.

Police are investigating.
