EMPIRE, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say they're looking for a man and his three children at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Chief Ranger Phil Akers says police received a call Sunday to be on the lookout for the family, who are from Emmet County. Akers says a ranger found the father's silver Mercedes about 7 a.m. Monday.
It was near a parking lot at the Coast Guard Maritime Heritage Museum at Sleeping Bear Dunes.
WWTV-WWUP reports that police found "unusual things" in the car but won't say what they were.
Park rangers, sheriff's deputies and crews from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, state police and the Coast Guard are searching the park.
Akers says the man's wife is at the scene. He says some areas of the park are closed.
