Police in Lansing are hoping people who may have witnessed a shooting this past weekend come forward.

Officers arrived at the Elk's Lodge in the 5300 block of South Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard around 1:15am Sunday. They located a 24-year-old man with a gunshot to the abdomen and discovered the suspect took off before they arrived. Police believe the victim and shooter may have known each other and have determined the shooting was not random. The victim is expected to survive.

Police believe several patrons may have witnessed the shooting and took off before officers arrived. They may have information that could help investigators, and are urged to contact Lansing Police.

If you have information regarding this crime or identity of the suspect please call Lansing Police Department Detective Lewandowsky at 517-483-6859 or 517-483-4600.
