Lansing Township Police have located the foster mother of a boy who was found wandering at the intersection of West Genessee and North Rosemary streets at about 7 a.m.
A man found the child inside his shop this morning. The child wandered out into the street and the man called 911.
According to police, the woman had been sleeping until 9 a.m. When she awoke, other children told her that when they woke up, the front door to the home was open. She contacted police at 9:45 a.m.
The boy is 6 years old, autistic, and cannot talk. He was found wearing only a pull-up diaper. The boy was taken to the hospital for evaluation and Child Protective Services is now investigating.
