PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities in suburban Detroit say they've received 11 reports by motorists who may have been targeted by pellet gun or BB gun shootings.
The Oakland Press and The Detroit News report police and the Oakland County sheriff's department are investigating the shootings in communities including Auburn Hills, Pontiac and Orion Township since early January. Some shootings have been reported along M-59.
Investigators are seeking tips from the public.
Amity Thompson of Waterford Township told The Oakland Press that she was headed toward a class at Baker College around 5 p.m. on Jan. 22 when she looked in her rearview mirror and saw a gun sticking out of a vehicle's window, resting on the side mirror.
The 35-year-old says she heard a ping, the sound of something hitting her car.
