WALLED LAKE, Mich. (AP) -- A 51-year-old man whose badly decomposed body was found at a suburban Detroit apartment complex died of multiple stab wounds.
The Detroit Free Press reports that an autopsy has determined the death a homicide. The man's name has not been released.
His body may have been in the apartment up to two weeks. Deodorizers were used to cover the smell of the body which was stuffed in a closet.
The Detroit News, Detroit Free Press and area broadcasters reported Monday that a woman brought her 21-year-old son into the Walled Lake police station around midday Sunday, leading investigators to the discovery of the body at Tivoli Apartments.
Police Chief Paul Shakinas says the body was found in the suspect's apartment. An arraignment is expected Tuesday.
