Police Dream Comes True for Eaton Rapids Boy

An Eaton Rapids boy was all smiles on his birthday, thanks to a special present from the local police department.

Chance Collins has an unknown neurological condition that leaves him in a wheelchair and unable to communicate. Monday was his birthday, and over the weekend, the Eaton Rapids Police Department invited him and his family for a tour of the department.

Chance, who loves the TV show COPS, even got to ride in a squad car with an officer.

"The moment he sat in the front passenger seat for a ride in the patrol car, his face lit up brighter than our emergency lights!" said Chief Larry Weeks in a post on Facebook.

Tonight at six, News 10's Lorne Fultonberg tells you the gift Chance has given the police department as well.
