DETROIT (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi will deliver the keynote address at the Detroit Branch of the NAACP's 58th annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner.
The Sunday evening dinner is expected to draw 10,000 people to Cobo Center in downtown Detroit.
Pelosi is the House Democratic leader. She has served in Congress for a quarter of a century representing a San Francisco district and became the first woman speaker of the House.
Attorney General Eric Holder gave last year's keynote. Other recent speakers have included civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., and former President Bill Clinton.
The event is the largest fundraiser for the Detroit chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
