MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (AP) -- State police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash on Interstate 75 in suburban Detroit that closed part of the expressway for three hours.

The crash happened on northbound I-75 about 6 a.m. Sunday in Madison Heights, just north of Detroit. Another crash at just about the same time in nearby Auburn Hills also closed the expressway's northbound lanes there for several hours.

WWJ-AM says the man who died was in his 20s. Investigators say they don't know why he was on the roadway.

The victim's identity wasn't immediately announced.

WDIV-TV says two cars and a motorcycle were involved in a crash in Auburn Hills, and one car flipped. Police say the motorcyclist broke a leg, and one car driver was critically hurt.
