A peace rally will be held on the Capitol steps at 2:30 today in Lansing to honor the legacy of Cesar Chavez.
Chavez advocated for migrant workers. He also co-founded what is now called the "United Farm Workers" Union.
More than 100 people turned out for the Cesar Chavez dinner in Lansing last night to honor the late civil rights leader and to raise money to build an archway over the Chavez Plaza in OId Town. It's all part of a week of events put together by various organizations including Action of Greater Lansing and the Lansing for Cesar Chavez Committee.
