Owner of Horrocks Farm Market Passes Away

A well-known mid-Michigan business owner has passed away.

Jerald Horrocks, owner of Horrocks Farm Market in Delta Township, died on Monday at the age of 91.

He's been described as a pioneer of the Lansing business community and a natural innovator who pioneered many farming and retail techniques.

The Eaton County Sheriff's Office had this to say about his passing on its Facebook page Wednesday: "The Delta Township community mourns the loss of Jerald Horrocks. I can remember many times shopping there and Mr. Horrocks handing out roses to my wife and other patrons in the store. I am sure many of you also can remember him doing the same."

Visitation is set for Thursday, April 24 from 12pm to 4pm at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.

Instead of flowers, the family has requested donations go to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.
