LANSING - Lansing Police are investigating a shooting incident at a home where medical marijuana was present. Police were called to a home in the 4200 block of Pleasant Grove Road just after midnight Wednesday for a report of a breaking and entering in progress. While on the way, dispatchers informed officers that the situation had escalated to a shooting.
When police arrived the homeowner said he received a knock at the door, and did not answer the door, and people outside began firing into the home. No one was able to get inside, and the gunmen left.
Police found bullet holes in the home and through windows.
While police were at the home, a man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. The gunshot victim is a 25-year-old Detroit man. He is in critical, but stable, condition.
Police at the scene continued to question two other potential witnesses, a 25-year-old woman and a 24-year-old male. Police say the two were arrested for obstructing the investigation.
Police say the victim of the shooting is not being cooperative nor is the home's owner. Police cannot even be certain that the gunshot victim was at the home.
Police continue to investigate the shooting.
