A Lansing firefighter is injured battling a blaze near Old Town.
There were heavy flames when fire crews arrived at this home on Oak Street at one-thirty this morning.
The family inside did get out safely. A firefighter suffered minor burns to his ear trying to fight the blaze, and was treated and released at a nearby hospital.
Fire authorities say the flames in the garage and kitchen spread to the attic. The fire is being ruled an accident, the fire marshal has taken over the investigation.
The Red Cross is now helping the family. Their home is heavily damaged, but not a total loss.
