ST. JOHNS (WILX)-- Close to 500 students, families, and teachers from all grade levels at Michigan Connections Academy, an online public K-12 school, are coming together at Uncle John's Cider Mill for an opportunity to see each other for the first time this school year, socialize and build school pride.

Each student will be traveling from different cities in Michigan; some will travel from three hours away to meet fellow students. New and old students will participate in ice breakers and other activities that will help them get to know each other or reconnect an old bond. Following a picnic lunch, students will be able to explore all Uncle John's Cider Mill has to offer with their new friends and teachers.

Michigan Connections Academy, a full-time, tuition-free, virtual public school for students in grades K-12, offers a complete online learning experience that combines a high quality education, flexible scheduling, state-certified teachers and an innovative, award-winning curriculum.
