DETROIT (AP) -- Officials say a body found bound and burned in an alley on Detroit's east side has been identified as a 26-year-old woman.
The Detroit Free Press reports (http://on.freep.com/1fcP1by ) that medical examiners identified the woman as Brittney Brown of Detroit.
Police Sgt. Michael Woody says her body was discovered Saturday by a man walking through an alley. The man called 911. Woody says investigators are working to identify possible suspects. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact police.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office says a preliminary autopsy was performed Monday, but the cause of death is under investigation.
