Officers Raid Drug House, Shoot, Kill 4 Pit Bulls

DETROIT (AP) -- Detroit police say a narcotics squad raiding a drug house shot and killed four pit bulls in the front yard.

Police say the raid happened about 3:30 p.m. Saturday at a home on the city's near east side.

In a statement, police say that were acting on public complaints about drug activity at the home.

Police say that "as officers approached the gated home, there were four unleashed vicious pit bulls in the front yard."

The statement says the officers shot and killed the dogs and that no officers were hurt.

Police say the officers continued with the raid and seized drugs.
