All Terrain Vehicles would be allowed on the shoulders of roads and highways in Michigan under two bills in the State Senate.

Current state law allows eight counties in the Lower Peninsula and the entire Upper Peninsula to authorize it.

These bills would leave the decision to each of the 83 counties in the state.

Supporters say it will boost tourism and give riders more freedom.
