Neighbors React to I-96 Shooter Suspect Arrest

Based on where the 24 shootings were, Jon Jones had a theory the shooter lived in the Wixom area, but never thought he could live so close.

"It's a nice neighborhood. Nice and quiet," said Jones.

So it's still a little hard for him to believe that not only did this suspect live a block away from his family, but across the street from his sons' elementary school on King Crowns Court. "It's really surprising. Really, pretty shocking that it's this close," continued Jones.

The neighbors living right next to the house in a cul-de-sac off of Loon Lake Road, which police stormed Monday night, are even more upset about the arrest. They didn't want to go on camera, but tell me they're both shocked and skeptical; not wanting to believe a man living with such a well-respected family, one they've known for years, could be responsible.

Whether the man arrested is the shooter or not, everyone I talked to is just looking forward to when this nightmare is over.

Same with Jones, and his family: "Hopefully, they caught the right person and it's all said and done with," still a little on edge when driving his boys to school.

This is also a tough pill to swallow for the neighbors I spoke with, because they say the dark gray car on which was searched and towed Monday night, hardly ever left the driveway in front of the house.
