National Pancake Day Proceeds Go To Children's Miracle Network

If you're craving a short stack of pancakes today, you can get them for free at IHOP. Today is National Pancake Day, and customers who visit between 7 AM and 10 PM can get a free stack of buttermilk pancakes. Patrons are encouraged to donate the cost of the pancakes or as much as they can afford, and proceeds go to help children in local communities.

Bella Fakih's summer started with a bad stomach ache. After a few days without improvement, her mom Megan took her to Sparrow Hospital where they diagnosed her with a hernia. Bella then underwent multiple surgeries and spent nearly three months in the hospital. But the experience wasn't all bad, says Bella's mom, because of the staff of the Children's Center at Sparrow.

The Children's Center is part of the Children's Miracle Network. Donations from National Pancake Day go directly to local hospitals that treat children, like Sparrow. The funds help pay for equipment and treatment. WILX is a partner of the Children's Miracle Network.
