NAACP Explains Award for Sterling

Sponsors are running away from the Los Angeles Clippers because of racist comments attributed to owner Donald Sterling.
Deadspin and TMZ released the taped conversation over the weekend, but Sterling hasn't confirmed or denied it's him.
The Los Angeles chapter of the NAACP has dropped plans to give him a lifetime achievement award.
The group's president explained why Sterling was in line for it in the first place.

"Mr. Sterling has given out a tremendous amount of scholarships that we know about," said Leon Jenkins. "He has invited numerous African-American kids to summer camps, and as I said, his donations to charities probably outnumber any of the other sport entities."

NBA commissioner Adam Silver will hold a press conference Tuesday in which he's expected to announce Sterling will be fined and suspended.
