East Lansing, Mich. (WILX) The man accused of killing two men in two shootings last week will undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
Ricard Walter Taylor, 34, was ordered to undergo a forensic evaluation Tuesday morning. Both the his defense and the prosecution attorneys agreed to the step at a pre-trial conference held in an East Lansing courtroom.
Taylor's preliminary examination will be delayed for several weeks while he undergoes the psychiatric examination.
Taylor was arrested May 12th in East Lansing following a three-hour stand-off with police. He is accused of shooting Michael Addo to death at the Rite Aid pharmacy by Frandor, where he worked as a pharmacist. Taylor is then suspected of driving to his home in the 1800 block of Coolidge Road and killing his neighbor, 27-year-old Jordan Rogers.
Taylor is charged with two counts open murder, and five weapons-related crimes. He is being jailed without bond.
