"Please bring her home, please. All I want is for him to bring her home. That's all I want," said Nicole Johnson in tears.
Johnson's six-week-old daughter disappeared from her home in Albion some time between Thursday night and early Friday morning. Police were after Johnson's estranged husband, 46-year-old Luqman Bari, who might be the father of six-week-old Nahla Maylee Johnson.
The investigation moved fast throughout the day and involved several departments across state borders. Bari was first spotted with the baby in Gibson City, Illinois at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Then, at about 7:30 p.m. they were seen again at a hospital in Effingham, Illinois. That's where Bari was taken into custody.
Nahla is safe and sound. Bari is waiting to be extradited back to Michigan.
