Michigan Militia Member Pleads Guilty

DETROIT (AP) -- One of nine people charged in an investigation of a southern Michigan militia has pleaded guilty to a firearm charge in the case.
The U.S. attorney's office says 26-year-old Joshua Clough (kluhf) pleaded guilty Monday in U.S. District Court in Detroit. The Lenawee County man is accused of conspiring to rebel against the government among other charges.
He's the first person to plead guilty in the case. The eight others charged are scheduled to go to trial Feb. 7.
A message seeking comment was left Monday from his lawyer.
The government claims members of Hutaree (hoo-TAR'-ee) were scheming to kill a police officer, then attack law enforcement.
As part of the plea, Clough acknowledged that he was a member of the militia and participated in military-style training.
