Eaton Rapids, Mich. (WILX) The Eaton Rapids community hosted its annual Memorial Day event Monday to honor Michigan Fallen Soldiers and show our support for their families.

Organizers said the parade is meant to be a solemn tribute to our fallen Michigan soldiers and their families focusing on those of the current Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

One of the families marching in Monday's parade was that of fallen soldier Justin Ellsworth who was killed while serving in Iraq 10 years ago in 2004.

Tonight on News 10 at 6, Josh Sidorowicz has more on the parade and a special 11-year-old boy who helped lead this year's parade and why Eaton Rapids police chose to let him ride along.
