BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (AP) -- A Michigan gas station has commemorated National Collector Car Appreciation Day by offering vintage gas prices to classic car owners.
The Detroit News reports the Birmingham Mobil station sold high octane gas at prices dating back to the 1950s and `60s Friday morning.
Owners of vehicles made at least 25 years ago were able to purchase up to 10 gallons at the rate of gas prices the year their car was made. Prices started at 25 cents per gallon.
The gas station also created a classic atmosphere with rock `n' roll playing on a jukebox and waitresses serving free doughnuts on roller skates.
