It's only a temporary solution, but the Meridian Township Fire Department has found a space to locate its central station.
Chief Fred Cowper says the central station will operate out of the township's service center at 2100 Gaylord C. Smith Court, which has the capacity to hold an ambulance and a fire truck.
The space will take three weeks to prepare. For now, firefighters are operating out of the township's two other stations.
Tonight at six, News 10's Lorne Fultonberg shows you what it will take to set up a temporary station and what effects the central precinct's closing has had on the department.
