JACKSON (AP) -- A Jackson woman found last year in Joliet, Ill., with no memories about herself now remembers too much.
The woman walked up to a police officer in Joliet last May and said she didn't know her name, where she was or how she had gotten there.
She was Amber Gerweck, a secretary who had disappeared three weeks earlier.
Gerweck was diagnosed with amnesia.
In the past few months, Gerweck's memories have come flooding back.
Instead of relief, however, The Detroit News reports (http://bit.ly/KihUCX) they have brought on a new source of anxiety.
The 33-year-old Gerweck tells the newspaper for a story Saturday she's remembering some harsh truths about herself, things so painful they may have brought about the amnesia.
