The man who admitted to disposing of three dead dogs in a dumpster behind a shoe store this winter has been sentenced.
Sonny Lee Rounds was recently sentenced to 52 days in jail with 52 days credit. He must also pay more than $500 in fines and costs for improper burial of an animal.
He told prosecutors the ground was too frozen to bury the dogs, which died from being outside in the cold weather.
The Eaton County woman who hired him to get rid of the dogs was sentenced to two years probation for animal neglect. 82-year-old Diane Willis must also pay thousands of dollars in costs related to the nearly two dozen animals taken from her home in Brookfield Township.
