BROOKLYN, MI - A worker who had fallen in an old water tower in Jackson County has been rescued. The man was working with another man to dismantle the old water tower in Brooklyn, when he fell several feet into the tower. There is no water in the tower, as it has not been used for some time. The extent of the worker's injuries have not been released. The Columbia Township Fire Chief says the man was walking around and conscious inside the tower. The accident happened shortly before 10 o'clock. It wasn't until after noon that a crane, being used as part of the dismantling process, was used to lift the man out from the top of the tower. The injured man was lowered to the ground and taken by ambulance to medical helicopter at a nearby football field. The other man working at the site was able to get off the tower without injury.
