VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say a man has died in an early morning apartment fire west of Detroit.
The Detroit Free Press, MLive.com and WDIV-TV report the Saturday morning fire started in "common hallways" of the ground-floor unit in Van Buren Township. Fire crews found the man lying in his bed.
Investigators have declined to identify the victim until they have confirmation from the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office.
Nobody else was hurt, but one family was displaced from the three-story building.
Authorities are trying to determine the cause of the fire, responsible for about $75,000 in damage.
