Isabella County (WILX) An Isabella County man is accused of firing shots at door-to-door salesmen who had come to his home.

Robert Dale Lee, 61, was arrainged Friday on charges of carrying a firearm with unlawful intent and felony assault.

Two men selling vacuums knocked on the door Lee's house in the 6000 block of South Vandecar Road in Fremont Township Thursday evening. They say they noticed Lee inside approach the door without opening it and gestured "one minute" by holding up one index finger.

They decided to leave when they saw him walking away towards a garage.

As they got in their van, where a third man was waiting, they say Lee walked out of a pole barn next to his home and held up a long gun, thought to be a 20 gauge shotgun later found at the house.

Isabella County Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski says the men heard two shots as they drove away. One of the victims told sheriff investigators he heard pellets "whiz" by his open driver's side window.

All three got away without any injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
