TALLMADGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- A West Michigan man is charged with attempted manslaughter after a Tallmadge Township teenager was shot in the face in what authorities describe as horseplay involving a gun.
The Holland Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/WN2Vs5 ) that 18-year-old Richard Usher, also of Tallmadge Township, is being held Friday on a $200,000 bond in the Ottawa County Jail. Usher was arraigned Thursday.
The 16-year-old male victim was in critical condition at a Grand Rapids hospital following Wednesday night's shooting.
Four other young people, ages 17 to 19, were in the home when the shooting happened. They weren't injured.
Tallmadge Township is just west of Grand Rapids.
