By  |

The man charged-- not once, but twice-- for biting police officers, was in court Thursday.

26-year-old Ronald Ruhl pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, to charges that include resisting and obstructing with injury and indecent exposure.

Ruhl was arrested in December for biting and attacking Meridian Township Police officers while naked in an Okemos apartment complex parking lot. A witness captured the incident on her cell phone and sent us the video. Officers had to taser him at least twice to subdue him and threatened him with a K-9 unit. It took four officers to eventually get him in handcuffs.

After his arrest, Ruhl was sent to Sparrow Hospital for evaluation. According to the Ingham County Sheriff's Office, attacked a deputy who was guarding him. The deputy told us at the time it took at least six officers to get him under control.

We also talked to Ruhl's father in December after the incidents. He told us his son is a veteran and was suffering from post traumatic stress disorder.
