MSU Police have been getting a lot of scam complaints lately.
The first one involves a caller claiming to be from a crime investigation unit. The caller says the person has unpaid fees for an affidavit.
Some people have gotten calls from someone accusing them of tax evasion. In this case, the caller ID makes it look like it's coming from an actual law enforcement agency.
There's also an email scam in which the targets are told their accounts will be shut down because of congestion, unless they give up their account details.
Finally, scammers are running a get-rich-quick scheme involving fake grants or stolen checks, if you give up your bank card information.
Don't be a victim.
