Michigan State University will resume normal operations at noon Jan. 7 at its East Lansing campus.

Due to ongoing snow removal, extreme wind chill temperatures and blowing snow, all classes beginning before noon will be canceled; employees are expected to begin work at noon. Most campus events and in-person services will resume at noon Jan. 7.

Critical functions are being maintained, and only employees supporting those functions are expected to report to work before noon on Jan. 7. All electronic services will be maintained, and other business operations will be supported remotely to the extent possible.

For students:

All classes scheduled prior to noon Jan. 7 are canceled (including College of Law). For students living in campus housing, one dining hall in each neighborhood will be open and serving food at regular hours. Olin Health Center will remain open.
Students at MSU’s medical campuses in Grand Rapids, Clinton Township and Detroit should anticipate classes beginning at noon but should consult their colleges regarding additional schedule changes.
Students in clerkships should check at their clinical sites to determine their hospital or clinic responsibilities.

For faculty/staff:

Only personnel supporting critical functions should report to work before noon Jan. 7. Employees should contact their unit administrator with questions.
Several clinics at the MSU Clinical Center will remain open; please call your clinic before coming to campus.

For those on campus:

Drivers are encouraged to park in MSU ramps and surface lots already cleared of snow.
The Veterinary Teaching Hospital will continue emergency services. Routine morning appointments will be re-scheduled.
Intramural facilities and the library will re-open at noon Jan. 7.

Students, faculty and staff should continue to check www.msu.edu for updates.
