The MIchigan Department of Education has released the scores for the fall 2012 MEAP tests.
Many local districts saw little change in the proficiency levels for the upper grades.
Statewide, students saw increases in reading, especially in reading in grades 3 and 8.
Governor Snyder praised the districts in a statement, but added that "much work remains and achieving further gains will demand our continued commitment.
