Local artists have a chance to put their creativity on display at Lansing's Potter Park Zoo.

The Lansing Lions Club is looking for artists interested in creating and installing permanent sculptures for its new Sensory Garden at the zoo.

Up to three sculptures will be selected by a panel of jurors for three different areas in the garden. Winning entries shall be awarded up to $4,000 per sculpture, and provided an additional allowance of up to $500 per sculpture for the preparation and installation of a permanent footing or base.

Proposals must be submitted to the Lansing Lions Club by February 28. It is intended that each sculpture be installed by June 30.

A full description of the project requirements and submission process can be found at the link below. The project was made possible by a "Sense of Place in the Arts" grant provided by the City of Lansing and the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), with support from the Arts Council of Greater Lansing.
