Lansing Police were called early Wednesday morning by a 21 year old man living in a home in the 800 block of Vine Street-- saying that a burglary was in progress at his house. The resident told police that the armed burglars were leaving on foot, and may have been getting into cars.
As officers arrived they observed a car leaving. They followed the vehicle, and made a "high risk" traffic stop. The police took two males into custody.
The victim made a statement that he and friends were at his house when they heard a knock on door. The door was then forced open. Three subjects entered, armed with a bat and pipe. They demanded items from the house. The home's occupant and witnesses refused, at which point the suspects left the residence.
Currently in custody are a 17-year-old male from Brighton, and an 18-year old male from Pinckney. Police think another vehicle was involved and got away. They do not believe this was a random occurrence. The resident, and one or more of the subjects in custody are acquaintances. Stay tuned to WILX.com and News 10 for more information.
